In the Beyond video we will explore additional tips on finding a good place to practice, items needed, recommendations for guitar purchase, and a practice ledger for tracking progress. Your guitar practice routine to start playing your favorite songs in 2 weeks:
Week 1: Practice Module 2-5
Week 2: Practice Module 6-9
Module 2
Let me introduce you to your new best friend! Learn about the parts of the guitar and what it's made of.
We will look at both acoustic and electric guitars.
Module 3
This module will teach you how to hold your guitar for the most comfort sitting and standing.
Module 4
Let's take a look at how to hold your pick and explore the different kind of picks. Try not to drop it ... but we all do from time to time.
Module 5
Here we will learn the names of the strings and some fun mnemonics to remember them by.
Wrapping Up
A well-structured practice routine doesn’t have to be lengthy. Even 10–15 minutes a day can lead to noticeable progress if you focus on the fundamentals, remain consistent, and finish each session on a positive note. As you grow more comfortable, feel free to extend your practice time and explore more songs or techniques in Sun & Fun Guitar with Pat Thomas!
